MSc BSC (Hons) MCSP HCPC
I graduated with a 1st class honours degree in Physiotherapy from Leeds Metropolitan University and have since spent my career working in a variety of clinical environments including, owning and selling a successful Physiotherapy practice.
After starting in the NHS, much of my career has been spent working within Elite Sport where my role has included work for Nottingham Forest FC, British Swimming, the English Institute of Sport, Notts County Cricket Club and the Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating Team. In that final position I completed x3 Olympic cycles and supporting Team GB athletes at Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014. I also undertook a management role of the Sports Science and Sports Medicine department and was a member of the Senior Leadership Team there.
I continue to work closely with a number of sports in the high performance Sport network as an Athlete Health Consultant in the English Institute of Sport. This position supports medical practitioners to better understand the reasons for athletes losing time to injury and illness and mitigate against those risks.
I have taken the perform lead role here at Spire Nottingham Hospital with a goal to make elite rehabilitation services available to anyone. Regardless of age, activity level and personal goals, everyone will have a level to which they want their body to “perform”. We are here to understand those goals and work with people to achieve them using the skills, expertise and specialist equipment available in the department.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Michael Brownlow at Spire include:
