I am a nationally and internationally recognised vascular surgeon with over 30 years’ clinical experience. My practice aims to combine the highest surgical and academic standards with a sympathetic and relaxed environment to achieve the best clinical and cosmetic results possible. I specialise in the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins and I am one of the most experienced surgeons in the UK.
During my clinical and academic career I have won national and international awards, written several surgical textbooks and published over 120 scientific papers.

I use minimally-invasive procedures to treat varicose veins, including endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) and ClariVein. I also treat thread veins, spider veins, red veins and facial veins. Patients also come to see me regarding venous ulceration; venous eczema; deep vein thrombosis (DVT); lymphoedema; leg swelling; phlebitis; venous and arterial disorders; peripheral vascular disease; hernias; subcutaneous lumps and bumps; axillary hyperhidrosis; sports conditions; sportsman's groin; fascial compartment syndrome. I am a friendly and approachable consultant, committed to providing excellent service to my patients.
To date, I have performed over 6,000 Endovenous Laser Ablation procedures and 600 ClariVein procedures.
In addition to my clinical work, I am also proud to be a senior anatomy demonstrator at the University of Cambridge. During my clinical and academic career I have won national and international awards, written several surgical textbooks and published over 120 scientific papers in British Journal of Surgery, Journal of Vascular Surgery, European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Phlebology.

I was the Chairman of the Consultants' Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) at the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital for 8 years. I am also the UK Representative of the International Society for Vascular Surgery.
