I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon for 14 years. I have a long running practice caring for patients with hip, knee and foot problems. This enables me to assess the lower limb as a whole and the complex interactions that one joint plays with its neighbouring one. I have extensive experience in hip and knee joint replacement as well as the newer techniques in foot surgery.
My practice encompasses conditions and trauma affecting the lower limbs including hip, knee and foot and ankle. I have trained junior surgeons for many years and am passionate about preparing surgeons of the future with the necessary skills to provide high quality care.
To date I have performed well over 1,500 hip and knee replacements, each with great attention to detail to ensure good outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Mike Thilagarajah at Spire include:
Orthopaedics - ankle and foot
Orthopaedics - hip and knee

I spend most of my free time with my young family and wife, but have a passion for many interests outside work including motorcycling, classic cars, gardening and DIY. My interests surprisingly compliment my work as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at many levels, from the aspects of surgery as a technical, artistic and hard working environment, all requiring a high level of attention to detail.
