I specialise in general surgery with specific interest in weight loss surgery, hernia surgery (keyhole and open, primary and recurrent), minimally invasive benign upper GI surgery, including gallbladder and bile duct surgery, anti-reflux and hiatus hernia surgery, surgery for achalasia. I also provide diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy.
I qualified in 2005 from The University of Jordan, Amman. Following this, I came to the UK and underwent basic surgical training in Southampton followed by higher surgical training in the Bristol region. During this time, I became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2010 and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2018.
After completing my surgical training I was awarded with a CCT in general surgery with sub-specialty interest in upper GI surgery. I subsequently underwent a post CCT fellowship in bariatric and advanced laparoscopic surgery in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading between 2019 and 2021.
