I have worked in Trauma and Orthopaedics for more then 25 years. I have over 10 years of Consultant experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics and was the Lead Trauma and Fracture Neck of femur Surgeon for more than 5 years.
I specialise in General Trauma and Orthopaedics Surgery with special interest in joint replacements. I have performed more then 1,500 knee and 1,500 hip replacements. I also carry out elective upper limb and lower limb surgeries including arthroscopy of knee joints. I manage patient admitted with complex trauma in our hospital.
I have made significant contribution in establishing pathways for management of these patients. I was the first one to establish Enhanced Recovery Protocol for fracture neck of Femur patients in Wales.
I was a Research Fellow in Department of Orthopaedics in Case Wester Reserve University Cleveland, Ohio USA and worked on Osteo-integration of uncemented implants.
I am a Honorary clinical tutor for medical students at Cardiff University and involved in training Specialist Registrars and Middle Grade Doctors. I regularly conduct teaching programs for nursing staff and junior medical colleagues.
