I am a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon. I qualified as a doctor from King's College London in 1998 and was appointed a Consultant Surgeon in 2014.

I am a highly productive and hard working surgeon. My main interest lies in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. Patients who have laparoscopic, rather than open, surgery tend to have faster recovery times and less pain.

In addition to laparoscopic surgery I have extensive experience of diseases of the anus, including ultrasound guided treatment of haemorrhoids (THD), management of complex fistula disease including the use of fistula plugs and pilonidal sinus surgery.

I manage the surgical diagnosis and surgical problems associated with inflammatory bowel disease and work closely with the gastroenterologists to provide a joined up approach. I am a JAG accredited endoscopist and am able to perform both upper and lower GI endoscopy (OGD and colonoscopy). My general surgical practice includes the management of hernias and gallstones (laparoscopic cholecystectomy).

I am the surgical lead for safety at Medway Maritime Trust, where I strive hard to improve the provision of surgical services to the local population.
