I pursued a surgical career from my early days at medical school, and was attracted to Orthopaedics by the opportunity to make an immediate and tangible difference to patients’ symptoms.
I have a special interest in total shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and reconstructive surgery. I have developed a particular interest, and reputation, within the Yorkshire region for the management of complex and revision shoulder arthroplasty cases.
In 2004 I graduated with honours from the University of Leeds and subsequently completed all of my surgical training in Yorkshire. In 2013 I was appointed as the sole Fellow on the highly regarded Coventry Shoulder Fellowship with Steve Drew and Tom Lawrence. This gave me a unique experience of a high volume of operating in the whole spectrum of shoulder surgery.
I further enhanced my experience by being awarded the British Elbow & Shoulder Society Mayo Elbow Fellowship in 2015; affording me the opportunity to visit and spend time working alongside Shawn O’Driscoll at the Mayo clinic in 2016.
I was appointed as a Consultant Shoulder Surgeon in 2015; my NHS practice is based in Huddersfield and Halifax and my private practice is in Elland and Leeds.
