Mr Nicholas Oliver

I am currently a Senior Clinical Specialist Dietitian at St George's Hospital, working in the cancer service team. I have been working at St George's for 10 years and been a highly specialist dietitian for eight years. I am a core member of the head and neck cancer multidisciplinary team at St George's.

I am also enteral feeding lead for the trust, work closely with the nutrition team and advise on policy and provide education to other staff members.

I have advance knowledge and experience within dietetics; I specialise in oncology, providing individualised dietetic assessment and dietary plans to patients. Assessment would include dietary assessment, diagnosing malnutrition and risk of malnutrition, diagnosing and addressing refeeding risk, identifying need for oral nutritional supplements, and where appropriate, identifying need for enteral feeding.

I can offer online consultations/assessment for patients.

Working in the NHS for 10 years, I have experience dealing with very challenging and complex circumstances and conditions and have helped patients meet their goals.

Nutrition following cancer diagnosis is extremely challenging for patients - especially with so much misinformation available; I enjoy providing reassuring evidence based nutritional advice to patients.

I have experience in clinical audit and service development. I keep up to date with my continued professional development attending courses, study days and conferences. As well as expanding my knowledge in dietetics, I have advance communication skills, completing motivational interviewing and behaviour change training.
