Specialises in

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome surgery
  • Trigger finger release
  • De quervains disease
  • Hand and wrist fractures

I have been a Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre for nearly five years now. I graduated from the University of Leicester in 2005. Following this I did my orthopaedic training in the East Midlands and passed my FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) in 2014. Due to my interest in research I then undertook a PhD about wrist fractures and completed this in 2019. Alongside this I completed a hand surgery fellowship at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre, Derby in 2017 and was subsequently appointed as a permanent hand and wrist consultant at this specialist hand centre.

I specialise in hand and wrist surgery and my practice is focused only on hand and wrist problems. I see patients with all hand and wrist disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, thumb arthritis, wrist and finger joint arthritis and Dupuytren's disease. I have a subspecialist interest in wrist disorders, particularly problems after injury.

To date I have carried out over 400 carpal tunnel release procedures, 100 cubital release procedures and over 200 operations for Dupuytren's disease along with over 500 steroid injections to the hand and wrist.

In addition to my clinical work I have a strong academic interest and I am proud to be an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham. I am a member of research teams carrying out several large national trials investigating outcome after treatment for Dupuytren's disease, wrist fractures and tendon injuries. I regularly present at national and international specialist conferences and I have published numerous journal articles, written several textbook chapters and I was part of the team that wrote national guidelines for the treatment of wrist fractures.

I am head of education for hand surgery at the Pulveraft Hand Centre. I am responsible for co-coordinating and delivering hand surgery teaching to Nottingham University medical students.
