I specialise in hip and knee surgery. My clinical practice involves hip replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery and knee arthroscopy. My scope of clinical work involves hip pain in adults, knee pain in adults, hip arthritis, knee arthritis, knee injuries, meniscal tears in the knee.
To date, I have performed over 500 hip replacements and over 500 knee replacements in both my NHS and private practice over the past 10 years.
I completed my higher surgical training in orthopaedics and trauma in March 2011 in the Yorkshire rotation based at Leeds. I then undertook sub-specialty fellowship training in hip and knee surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham for 18 months. I have also undertaken visiting fellowships in complex hip and knee surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA and Inselspital, Bern, Switzerland which are world famous institutions for highest quality of care and leading advances in medical research.
I worked as a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon on a fixed-term contract for nearly two years at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge prior to my current appointment. I am a full-time consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

I regularly attend national and international conferences to keep abreast of the latest advances in hip and knee surgery. I have presented papers in number of national and international meetings. I have published number of research projects including prospective randomised trial and retrospective studies and undertaken audits to improve the quality and safety of health care. I am a clinical and educational supervisor for junior doctors in training and I am invited as a faculty to teach on postgraduate courses in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
