Virtual consultations:
I am one of Spire Harpenden's popular cosmetic consultants. With decades of experience, hundreds of satisfied patients and a wealth of knowledge and expertise including breast, facial and body contouring as well as a strong interest in breast reconstruction after cancer. I have performed over 10,000 procedures. I am able to offer 3D scanning for patients considering breast augmentation, this allows you to make informed decisions about your new look.
I have trained extensively in plastic and reconstructive surgery having undertaken my training in plastic surgery both in the UK (London) and internationally. At University College London I pursued research into nerve injuries and scarring which led to the award of a masters degree. I am entered into the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery. I am also a full member of the British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). I am currently a consultant plastic surgeon at the Royal Free, University College London, Mount Vernon and Luton and Dunstable hospitals.
I have published comprehensively within the plastic surgery literature throughout my career and regularly present my work internationally at plastic surgery conferences. I am actively involved in training young surgeons. I have also been involved with media through ITV and Channel 4 documentaries.
My broad training and international fellowships in breast reconstruction have enabled me to develop special interests within the broad field of plastic surgery - my specialist interests in cosmetic surgery include: breast, facial and body contouring as well as a strong interest in breast reconstruction after cancer.

What is involved in an abdominoplasty procedure?
Mr Nilesh Sojitra, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, explains what is involved in an abdominoplasty operation that removes excess skin and fat after pregnancy or weight loss. He says it is important to have reached your target weight before having the procedure in order to get the best outcome. The operation takes two to three hours depending on whether liposuction is needed. Recovery takes a few weeks, and you'll take at least two weeks off work.
