I am a private consultant orthopaedic surgeon, practising at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex. I offer private surgery in our clean and comfortable hospital.
Having graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine, I soon developed an interest in orthopaedics and sports injuries. I was appointed as a research fellow at Barts and London NHS Trust in 2000. The challenge was to develop a spinal research laboratory working in collaboration with Queen Mary and Westfield University.
I went onto higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the North East Thames rotation, working in hospitals throughout North East London and Essex, including two years at the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore. I was appointed as a Consultant at Barking Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust in 2010. My role included developing the trauma service, concentrating on complex trauma and revision hip surgery. In 2014 I went on to be appointed as a consultant in Care UK and am currently the Clinical Director in orthopaedics ensuring gold standard care is delivered over eight secondary healthcare sites in England.
I believe that the best outcome for patients can only be achieved when decisions are carefully considered and evidence based with absolute focus on patients choice.
My passion remains in research and development and my work has been published in international journals on topics related to joint infection, complex trauma, ligament injury and discogenic pain. I am currently looking at developing the perfect day case joint replacement pathway.
I hold several advisory roles relating to the subject of orthopaedics, training future doctors and healthcare delivery and play a key role in the appraisal of orthopaedic consultants in accordance with GMC guidelines.
