Specialises in
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in knee surgery.
My clinical interests comprise all aspects of knee conditions. This includes sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery, meniscal surgery, cruciate ligament surgery, partial and total knee replacements, patellofemoral arthritis and instability including medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction.
My main NHS base is the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, where I am the clinical lead for soft tissue knee surgery.
I qualified from the Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School, London, in 1994. I undertook orthopaedic training in London working at many centres of excellence. Additionally, I undertook specialist fellowship training in sports surgery and joint replacement at Sportsmed-SA in Adelaide, Australia, and also dedicated knee surgery fellowships at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Bristol, and Guy's Hospital in London. Moreover, I was also awarded a prestigious European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics & Traumatology (EFORT) fellowship to the University of Leuven, Belgium.
I have a strong background in research and wrote my MD thesis on the kinematics of the knee joint. This work has been cited by many other researchers and also by major implant companies in relation to their more modern knee prosthesis designs. I have published extensively in scientific journals and have presented to learned societies at both national and international conferences.
