BSc, BM, MD, FRCS(Gen.Surg)
I am an upper Gastrointestinal, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon. I perform a large number of laparoscopic operations each year for all types of groin, abdominal wall, gallstones removal, reflux and hiatus hernias. I have a keen interest in surgery for gastroesophageal reflux disease. I also have an interest in the surgical treatment of motility disorders such as Achalasia.
I work in a busy cancer centre treating oesophageal and gastric malignant disease. I have introduced minimally invasive resections (thoracoscopic and laparoscopic) to our regular practice in Cambridge. To date I have performed over 100 totally minimally invasive operations for oesophageal malignancy.
I qualified at Southampton University in 1993. I undertook basic surgical training and research in the Wessex region. My Specialist training was in the South West and Oxford regions. I have been a consultant at Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge since 2007.
I have published a paper on laparoscopic reoperation for failed anti-reflux surgery.
