I am experienced in treating the full spectrum of spinal disorders from minimally invasive techniques to deformity surgery. I have a specialist interest in degenerative spine disorders, spine tumours, pituitary tumours, endoscopic neurosurgical techniques and pain management including trigeminal neuralgia and neuromodulation (Spine Cord Stimulation). In addition to experience in general neurosurgical practice including neurooncology, trauma, hydrocephalus and neurooncology. I am trained in stereotactic radiotherapy techniques including cyberknife treatment. I maintain a busy general neurosurgical practice.
I am an appointed Consultant Neurosurgeon and Complex Spine Surgeon at Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre and Royal Sussex County Hospital. I have dual orthopaedic and Neurosurgical accreditation in Spinal surgery, in addition to further specialist fellowship training in anterior skull base and minimally invasive neurosurgery in Adelaide and New York. I am the only dual fellowship trained Spine Neurosurgeon in Sussex.
I am active academically with over 40 articles in peer reviewed journals. I am in the process of writing a dissertation to complete my MSc from Oxford University. I am honorary lecturer at the University of Liverpool and also reviewer for the British Journal of Neurosurgery and Global Spine Journal. I am a medical officer for the British Boxing Board of Control.
