I have been a breast oncoplastic surgeon for over 20 years, managing all aspects for breast problems: benign disease, family history, breast cancer and melanoma. I have provided this care through the support of the breast and melanoma multidisciplinary teams. Throughout those years I have managed hundreds of patients with breast cancer and melanoma. I have introduced and embraced the latest technology in treating breast cancer such as new reconstructive techniques using Acellular Dermal Matrix, fat transfer and intra-operative analysis of sentinel lymph node in breast cancer.
I have treated over 80 new breast cancers a year, from diagnosis to treatment and recovery. I support my patients through the journey in “Moving On Programme”, answering their questions and concerns in a friendly informal atmosphere.
The results at my breast unit have shown a 10% better survival in breast cancer than the national average; a huge leap ahead for the unit. My multidisciplinary team has always been well attributed to through peer review year after year.
As the Chair of the Audit and effectiveness Committee, I lead this process in Frimley Park Hospital to ensure they learn from audit and implement change to improve patient care.
I teach in King’s Breast Reconstruction Course.
I have five Clinical Excellence Awards, a NATO Medal for Service in Bosnia and a NATO Medal for Service in Kosovo.
