MBchB, FRCS, FRCS (GenSurg), MD
I qualified from Manchester Medical School in 1992, and gained my doctorate in medicine in 2005 for research in breast cancer and metastasis. I was a surgical registrar in the Yorkshire Deanery working in Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford, Hull and Leeds. I spent a year as an onco-plastic fellow in Manchester to learn breast reconstruction surgery and aesthetics.
I have been working as a consultant since 2006 and have been a specialty lead, MDT lead, clinical and divisional director at the trust.
For ten years I have provided one stop breast services with Dr Ann Marie Wason consultant radiologist and work as part of a multidisciplinary team with Prof Jonathan Joffe and Mehmet Sen.
I am national onco-plastic trainer for the Association of Breast Surgeons. I pioneered the technique of acellular dermal matrix and implant reconstruction, which I first performed in Europe by myself in 2008.
