Specialises in
I have been a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Bradford Teaching Hospitals since 2018, specialising in rhinology (nose and sinus) with particular expertise and super-specialist experience and training in advanced endoscopic (minimally-invasive keyhole) sinus surgery and complex rhinoplasty. I have a specialist interest in medical technology and innovations and have pioneered an awake (local anaesthetic) office-based surgical practice which is unique to the West Yorkshire region.
My clinical practice encompasses adults and children for both general ENT conditions and advanced rhinology.
I graduated in medicine from the University of Manchester in 2007, and subsequently completed my higher surgical training (CCT-UK) in otolaryngology (ENT) in West Yorkshire. I was selected for and completed a highly prestigious fellowship in rhinology and anterior skull base surgery in Brisbane, Australia. I have additional clinical experience and training in rhinology from world-renowned institutions in USA, Canada and New Zealand.
To date, during my career in the NHS and abroad, I have performed thousands of surgical cases within general ENT (which include grommet insertion, tonsillectomy, examination of the larynx). My current consultant clinical practice now mainly focuses upon the nose (rhinoplasty, septorhinoplasty) and sinus surgery. I manage a varying degree of a complexity of cases referred from primary care (GPs) and secondary care (other ENT consultants). I have performed hundreds of awake nasal surgical office-based cases (to include turbinate surgery, septal surgery, and balloon sinuplasty).
I am heavily involved in medical education. I have held an Honorary Senior Lecturer role at the University of Leeds and am a clinical supervisor to ENT specialty trainees. I organise and deliver regional teaching courses and surgical dissection courses (sinus surgery and rhinoplasty) within Yorkshire for ENT trainees.
I am an International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) accredited assessor and examiner and have an interest in aviation and aeromedicine.
