I have been a Consultant Urological Surgeon for five years and I am an expert in the management of urinary tract stone disease (kidney, ureteric and bladder stones) and urinary symptoms due to an enlarged prostate. I have regional and national recognition for my expertise in laser prostate surgery (Greenlight laser).
My current work focuses on the clinical application and research of new technologies like UroLift, Rezum (steam therapy), i-TIND and prostate artery embolisation to help men with urinary symptoms. I practice all aspects of general and diagnostic urology.
As the lead for BPH services in my trust, I have initiated service improvement and implemented national GIRFT guidance and helped regional work on pathways and services reconfiguration for patients needing surgery for urinary symptoms due to an enlarged prostate.
I was awarded Prof K.R.K Gold Medal in Surgery at TN Dr MGR Medical University in 2005. A highlight of my training period was being awarded as best junior doctor at Stepping Hill Hospital (2010). This reflected my work ethic, professionalism and team working skills, something which I have continued to sustain and foster throughout my career.
