I am a Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon at Leeds who specialises in complex cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine and intradural surgery.
I completed my neurosurgical specialist training programme at Leeds General Infirmary and was successful in securing the prestigious Leeds national spine fellowship scheme enabling me to complete sub-specialty training in complex spinal surgery.
I was a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) grant co-holder (worth £1 million) and was a joint Chief Investigator for the FORVAD Spinal Clinical Trial. The trial aimed to compare effectiveness of the two common cervical spine (neck) operations currently used to treat brachialgia. This work was done with close collaboration with Leeds Clinical Trials Unit.
