Mr Shahzad Shah

I have a special interest in bladder dysfunction, both in terms of voiding issues and urinary urgency including incontinence. I support one stop clinics for investigating blood in urine and prostate issues. My main interest is Botox to the bladder for urgency and surgical treatment for stress incontinence which is urinary leakage on coughing and sneezing.

I also investigate all diagnostics for suspected cancer of the kidney, bladder and testis. I also offer treatment for enlarged prostate such as TURP, UroLift® and Rezum which is the steam therapy for benign enlargement of the prostate.

I obtained my medical degree at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad where I worked as a junior doctor and completed my general surgical training, I was then trained at Guys and Medway and completed my fellowship at St James Hospital, Leeds before being appointed consultant at  West Herts .

I trained in general urology and reconstructive urology. I have been involved in research on urinary incontinence and it's management and I travel frequently  overseas to teach and develop functional urology in the third world. I am also a committee member of the international continence society and a reviewer for National Institute for Clinical Excellence UK. I have published in a number of journals and I'm a reviewer for the British journal of Urology.
