MB BS, BSc, FRCS (Urol), FEBU
As well as offering all aspects of general urology, I specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate, bladder and renal cancer. I am one of three surgeons leading prostate cancer services across Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. I also played a pivotal role in establishing the robotic surgery service in Portsmouth. Using the da Vinci platform, I am a high-volume robotic surgeon with outcomes published through the British Association of Urological Surgeons and the National Prostate Cancer Audit.
I graduated with distinction from the Royal Free Medical School, London in 1996. Following graduation, I undertook five years general surgical training in London and Bristol, then completed a year of prostate cancer research at the University of Chicago, USA.
After returning to the UK, I completed six years higher urology training in the Wessex region. Towards the end of training, I was awarded a fellowship by the Endourology Society to undertake six months advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery at the University of Toronto, a world-renowned centre of excellence for urology and minimally invasive surgery.
After completing my urology training in 2008, I was awarded a fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons to undertake a year of complex open and laparoscopic cancer surgery at University Hospital Birmingham.
