Consultant Paediatric Urologist Southampton Children's Hospital; University of Edinburgh, Urology ChM

Born in Dublin, I graduated from University College Dublin in 1994 and completed a Master's degree in Physiology in 1996. I moved to Cambridge in 2001 and completed specialist training in adult urology in the Eastern Deanery prior to my appointment to fellowship training in Paediatric Urology at Southampton General Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. I was also awarded European Society of Paediatric Urology and British Urological Foundation travelling fellowships for visits to the Hopital Necker, Paris and Hopital Lenval, Nice, France. I joined the Department of Paediatric Urology at Southampton Children's Hospital as a consultant in 2009.

I am married with five children. I am a keen runner. I have completed a number of half marathons raising thousands for my favourite charities. I regularly play football. I formerly represented my university in inter-varsity competition. The COVID pandemic has prevented me joining the Ireland ‘medics masters’ football squad. I coached a local junior football team for 8 years.
I have been appointed to the ‘talent pool’ of MercyShips.org as a paediatric urologist.
