I have over 20 years' experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I am currently a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Southend University Hospital NHS Trust and have held this position since April 2009. I was working as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Sri Lanka before migrating to the UK. My special interests are Early Pregnancy Problems, Menstrual Disorders, Endometriosis, Minimal Access Surgery (keyhole) and treatment of Prolapse. I also see women with recurrent miscarriages and fertility problems. I can perform pelvic ultrasound scan examinations. I am the Lead Clinician for Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) at Southend University Hospital.

I practice general gynaecology at Spire Wellesley Hospital. I see women with menstrual disorders, endometriosis, vaginal and uterine prolapse, post-menopausal problems, fibroids, ovarian cysts and early pregnancy problems such as recurrent miscarriage. I perform all minor and major gynaecology surgical procedures – hysterectomy, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy procedures, endometrial ablation, trans-cervical resection of fibroids, ovarian cystectomy, treatment of endometriosis, prolapse surgery and other vulval and vaginal surgery such as cyst removal and marsupialisation of Bartholin cyst.

I have done over 500 hysterectomies, over 1,000 hysteroscopies, over 1,000 laparoscopies and over 500 endometrial ablations and many minor surgical procedures such as marsupialisation of Bartholin gland and vulval biopsies.

I am a member of the Medical Advisory Committee at Spire Wellesley Hospital and am Chairman of the RCOG - the Sri Lanka Liaison Committee. I am the Lead for the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit Gynaecology Risk Management and Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinical Governance.

I see women with early pregnancy problems and women with recurrent miscarriage. I was awarded a 'Young Gynaecologist Award' for the year 2000 by Asia Oceanic Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

I welcome appropriate patients wishing to refer and pay for treatment themselves without the need for a GP letter of referral.
