Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Gynaecologist, having qualified from Leeds University Medical School in 1989. I undertook all of my general training in obstetrics and gynaecology in and around Nottingham.
During this time, I developed an interest in gynaecological cancer and successfully completed a DM thesis on targeted chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. Thereafter, I returned to Leeds for a subspecialty training fellowship in gynaecological cancer surgery and was subsequently appointed as a consultant gynaecologist and gynaecological oncologist at St James's University Hospital in 2002.
In addition, I am a registered colposcopist with the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Apart from my general gynaecological and colposcopy practice, I am one of the subspecialty consultants in the Leeds Cancer Centre providing surgical treatment for gynaecological malignancy, where I have developed laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques to perform hysterectomies and remove ovarian cysts.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Tim Broadhead at Spire include:
Gynaecology
Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists
British Gynaecological Cancer Society
British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology
International Gynaecological Cancer Society
Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.
Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist, York District Hospital.
Beyond medicine, I have a busy family life with a wife and two children. During the summer months, I enjoy golf and I am also a keen cricketer and play for a local team. In winter, I spend Saturday afternoons at Elland Road having been a season ticket holder at Leeds United for the past 19 years.
