I joined Epsom and St Helier as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon in 2001.
I was instrumental in setting up the Shoulder and Elbow Service at St Helier Hospital and introducing shoulder and elbow surgery to SWLEOC (South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre).
I am passionate about training and have set up a BOA clinical leaders’ fellowship for senior trainees. My research interests include shoulder conditions such as rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder and shoulder arthroplasty.
I have collaborated on multi-centre trials on rotator cuff repair and arthroscopic subacromial decompression. My work has been presented at national and international meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals.
I offer a one-stop clinic for shoulder and elbow problems with clinical assessment, imaging with X-rays and ultrasound as well as treatments such as image-guided injections where appropriate at the first visit.
I offer a broad range of treatments to patients – both nonsurgical and surgical. When surgery is necessary, I can offer my expertise in arthroscopic surgery to treat soft tissue conditions of the shoulder and elbow.
I work closely with physiotherapists to ensure that rehabilitation is tailored to the individual’s needs. I have extensive experience in managing sports injuries of the shoulder, elbow and upper limb as well as fractures and dislocations.
