I have been working as an Orthopaedic Surgeon for the past 17 years. I specialise in simple and complex knee conditions. I specialise in general orthopaedic surgery with a specific interest in sports knee injuries, joint replacement (knee and hip) and robotic arm assisted total knee/partial knee and total hip replacement.
My expertise includes sports knee injuries, arthroscopic knee surgery, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery, meniscal surgery and cartilage surgery. I am proficient in performing robotic joint replacement and utilise the latest technology, which involves advanced imaging systems to ensure precise and immediate guidance during procedures.
To date I have performed over 1,000 arthroscopic knee procedures, 400 knee replacements, 150 ACL reconstructions and 300 hip replacements.
My special interests are anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, arthroscopic knee surgery, arthroscopic meniscal repair, arthroscopic partial meniscectomy, cartilage treatment, conventional total hip replacement, conventional total/partial knee replacement, fractures around the knee, high tibial osteotomy/tibial tubercle osteotomy, lateral collateral ligament repair/reconstruction, medial collateral ligament repair/reconstruction, MPFL reconstruction, robotic total/partial knee replacement and robotic total hip replacement.
I obtained medical education at NDMVP Samaj’s Medical College in India, graduating in 2004. I further pursued a master’s degree (DNB in Orthopaedics) from Sancheti Hospital, Pune, India in 2009. I attained the Surgical College Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCS) in 2016.
Throughout my career, I have completed a number knee and hip fellowships in renowned institutions in India, Germany, Canada and the United Kingdom. I possess nine years of dedicated experience in knee surgery, including 18 months specifically focused on robotic arm assisted surgery.
My training in trauma, knee and hip surgery includes arthroscopy and arthroplasty fellowship at Camp Orthopaedic Clinic, Pune, India 2009, Sports knee fellowship, Stuttgart, Germany, 2011, ISAKOS knee fellowship at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, UK, 2012, AO trauma fellowship, Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, Canada 2019, Sports knee fellowship, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Leeds, 2021, Senior robotic arthroplasty and sports knee fellow at University College London Hospital and The Princess Grace Hospital 2022.
I also work as a Consultant at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.
I actively participate in delivering lectures for FRCS teaching at national and international meetings. I have contributed to the field by publishing articles in peer reviewed scientific journals. I have written book chapters on various aspects of general orthopaedics and knee surgery. I have participated in a number of randomised control trials. I also present extensively at meetings both within the UK and abroad.
A patient-centric approach and shared decision-making are integral to my evidence based practice. I provide the best possible care and experience for all my patients. I genuinely care about their wellbeing and strive to understand their concerns, anxieties and goals. I deal with a lot of high performance athletes and my aim is to get them to their desired level of performance.
