Mr Vivekanandan Dhukaram

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialist interest in foot and ankle surgery. I have extensive experience in all aspects of foot and ankle pathology with special interest in sports injuries, deformity correction and minimally invasive surgery.

My surgical practice includes modern hallux valgus (bunion) surgery, lesser toe surgery, arthroscopic procedures of ankle, subtalar, big toe joints including arthroscopic guided joint fusions to accelerate the post-operative recovery in complex conditions. Moreover I perform ankle replacement, ligament reconstruction, midfoot and hindfoot deformity correction, rheumatoid foot surgery, diabetic foot surgery, tendon transfers, tendon reconstruction, foot and ankle fracture fixation and revision surgery for previous unsuccessful procedures from other surgical units.

I have set up the specialist foot and ankle service at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS trust and continue to develop it. I am trained and accredited as an orthopaedic surgeon from the South Trent Training Scheme. Further to this, I undertook advanced fellowship training from renowned foot and ankle centres - Nottingham and RNOH Stanmore - and was also awarded British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and European Foot and Ankle Society travelling fellowships.

I have published and presented widely in foot and ankle surgery, and remain active in research and training. I strive to provide the best possible outcome for my patients and spend time to ensure patients have a good understanding of their condition, treatment options and likely outcome.
