Virtual consultations:
My main interests are the diagnosis and treatment of urinary stone disease, prostate disorders and laparoscopic kidney surgery, whilst continuing a keen interest in diagnostic general urology and general urological surgery including prostate cancer diagnosis, and endoscopic (telescopic) surgery for diseases such as bladder cancer or conditions causing urinary difficulties.
I am an experienced kidney stone and prostate surgeon and am able to offer patients minimally invasive treatments for kidney stones including laser, lithotripsy and percutaneous stone surgery (PCNL). I am also very interested in why people form kidney stones and identifying how patients can reduce their risk of stone formation in the future. I perform laser prostate procedures (HOLEP) as well as the minimally invasive prostatic urethral lift procedure (Urolift) in addition to traditional prostate procedures (TURP).
I graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London in 2002 having been awarded a first class degree in Physiology in 1998. I completed my basic surgical training at the Norfolk and Norwich University and was subsequently awarded a specialist training rotation in the East of England region. The majority of my training has been in tertiary referral teaching hospitals and included a year as a Chief Resident. At the end of my training I have completed a stone surgery fellowship to Kathmandu, Nepal. I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
I have a strong commitment to Urological training. I am an Honorary Lecturer at UEA and regularly teach on national and international stone surgery courses. I have a keen research interest in stone disease and am actively involved in the presentation and publication of UK stone surgery outcome data.
