MSc
I have been a speech and language therapist for 15 years. I specialise in the assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing difficulties arising from acquired or progressive neurological conditions.
I specialise in speech, language and swallowing therapy for adults who have had a neurological condition such as a Stroke, Head Injury, Brain Tumour, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and Dementia.
I have experience of working in both hospital and community settings, and worked for eight years at Southend Hospital where I led a team of speech therapists on the stroke unit. I have extensive experience of running a videofluroscopy (swallowing X-ray) clinic. I was also Clinical Governance representative.
I have experience in medico-legal work, including facilitation of ‘Mental Capacity Act’ and ‘Deprivation of Liberty’ assessments, and ‘Fitness to Plead’ assessments.
I aim to improve peoples quality of life by making communication easier and swallowing safer.
