I have worked as a Consultant Paediatric ENT Surgeon at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) from 2016. The scope of my practice is entirely dedicated to children.
My sub-specialty areas of interest include general paediatric ENT (tonsillitis, snoring, glue ear, tongue tie, nasal obstruction), sleep disordered breathing, neck lumps and the management of drooling and progressive airway obstruction in children.
I have an active research interest and completed a PhD in cancer immunology in 2013. I am a council member of the British Association for Paediatric Otolaryngology (BAPO); I sit on the Education Committee for the European Society of Paediatric Otolaryngology (ESPO) and am the National Online Training Programme Director for ENT in England.
I have authored six book chapters on paediatric ENT and have presented, by invitation, at numerous clinical and scientific meetings. I have experience in the design, development and delivery of simulation-based training in paediatric ENT and have facilitated international simulation sessions.
I am also an Advanced Paediatric Life Support instructor, a member of the Paediatric National Tracheostomy Safety Project, and am a named champion on the Improving Tracheostomy Care/Global Tracheostomy Collaborative.
In my spare time I love to read, play the piano and garden. Most importantly, I am the mother of a beautiful little boy who is the motivation behind everything I do.
