BSc (Hons), MBDA
I have practiced as a registered dietitian for the past 30 years, working in 6 different hospitals during this time. I have worked in the NHS for 25 years and am now currently a freelance dietitian. My NHS hospital is Broomfield, where I work ad hoc. I have experienced most areas of clinical dietetics over my 30 years of working.
My areas of special interest are gastroenterology, especially IBS and functional bowel disorders. I see many patients whose quality of life is affected by their bowel symptoms and offer a range of dietary advice to enable them to reduce the severity of symptoms to a manageable level.
In addition, I work with a bariatric surgeon helping patients pre and post-operatively to optimize their weight loss and change their relationship with food. I enable patients to make the right choice of foods and to understand food portions, helping them to develop mindful eating , to have a healthy diet and relationship with food.
I can provide patients with advice on sports nutrition to help weight loss, weight gain and the competition and training.
I also worked at a HIV hospital in London for 14 months and recently as a paediatric diabetes dietitian in Essex for 6 months.
