Ms Julie Collins

Specialist Physiotherapist

MSc Physiotherapy

As a chartered physiotherapist at Spire Parkway Hospital, I have a deep-seated commitment to clinical excellence. My practice philosophy is to approach each case with a bespoke plan, utilising my skills in manual therapy, exercise prescription, and patient advocacy to promote optimal recovery.

I originally qualified from Sheffield Hallam University in 1987 and spent several years working within the NHS, and overseas, in a variety of different inpatient settings, including Surgery, Medicine and ITU.

After a career break to have a family, I returned to the NHS and took on a new role working within Dermatology, qualifying as a Phototherapist in 2005. I was the Lead Therapist running the Phototherapy Unit at Solihull Hospital where we treated many skin conditions with UV light, NB UVB and PUVA.

I came to Spire Parkway in 2012 to set up a similar service working with Professor Heagerty and I have been leading the service ever since. We receive Consultant referrals from a large geographical area and treat skin conditions including Psoriasis, Eczema, Vitiligo and PLE with Narrowband UVB in a body cabinet.

I also work part-time on the inpatient wards as part of the multidisciplinary team where we treat a variety of orthopaedic and surgical patients.
