I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist at St Anthony’s Hospital. After graduating with a first in Immunology at Imperial College, I qualified in medicine in St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. Specialising in inflammatory eye diseases and corneal and cataract surgery. I held a research registrar post at Oxford, before training in clinical ophthalmology in Bristol, Manchester and Harvard, USA. My PhD was on mechanisms of corneal transplant failure. I have worked in developing countries and also with ORBIS, the international flying eye hospital. In addition to general ophthalmology, I have developed a local and tertiary referral service for cornea, uveitis and inflammatory eye disease. As well as being a practising clinician and teacher, I am also continuing to carry out clinical research into the prevention of blindness.

I specialise in cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, complex cataract surgery with specific interests in corneal transplantation, uveitis and inflammatory eye conditions, corneal dystrophy, macular degeneration, macular haemorrhage, MGD (meibomian gland dysfunction), floaters (eye), glaucoma, eye problems, conjunctivitis (pink eye), corneal disease, corneal ectasia, blepharitis and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
