My post-graduate training in general surgery and urology in Malaysia gave me extensive experience in major abdominal surgery and stone surgery. The subsequent uro-oncological training in Edinburgh complemented this training specifically with pelvic cancer (bladder and prostate) and laparoscopic experience.
My practice at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital will reflect my NHS practice which includes general urology and specialist work in pelvic cancer, specifically bladder and prostate cancer.
I have research interests in bladder cancer, prostate diseases, voiding dysfunction and stone disease.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Professor Param Mariappan at Spire include:
Urology
Other treatments

Outside my busy clinical life, I devote my attention to my family. I enjoy golf (member of Duddingston Golf Club) and nature photography.
