Launching Spire Healthcare’s Quality Strategy 2025-2027: a commitment to excellence

01 April 2025

At Spire Healthcare, quality is at the heart of everything we do.

Our purpose — making a positive difference to people’s lives through outstanding personalised care — guides our commitment to delivering for our patients. That’s why I’m delighted to introduce our Quality Strategy 2025-2027: Quality Matters – Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.

This strategy reaffirms our dedication to continuous improvement, ensuring that patient safety, experience, and clinical outcomes remain our top priorities. It sets out clear objectives, supported by a robust ward-to-board governance framework, to monitor progress and drive meaningful change.

A strategy for excellence

Our Quality Strategy 2025-2027 focuses on five key principles:

  1. Patient safety – We are committed to reducing preventable harm through standardised protocols, a strong safety culture, and learning from incidents. By embedding national patient safety principles and using risk management systems, we will continue to enhance safe care delivery
  2. Patient experience and engagement – Personalised care is at the core of our approach. We will listen to and learn from our patients, ensuring they are active participants in their healthcare journey. This includes co-designing initiatives, enhancing shared decision-making, and fostering inclusivity to improve overall patient satisfaction
  3. Clinical effectiveness and outcomes – We will ensure that every treatment is based on the best available evidence, measured against national benchmarks. Regular clinical audits, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and the adoption of innovative practices will help us achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients
  4. Quality improvement – A culture of continuous improvement is essential for sustained excellence. Through data-driven interventions, cross-functional teamwork, and a commitment to sharing best practices, we will continuously refine our processes to enhance patient care
  5. Assurance – We have established a ward to board committee structure that oversees the execution of this strategy and ensures alignment with organisational goals

Measuring our success

This strategy is more than just words — it is backed up by a clear suite of metrics that will allow us to track progress, from ward to board. Regular reviews, real-time data analytics, and patient feedback loops will ensure that we remain on course to achieve our goals. We will also benchmark our performance against national standards to drive further improvement.

A shared responsibility

Quality is everyone’s responsibility. From our executive leadership to frontline teams, every colleague has a role to play in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care. By fostering a culture of openness, learning, and collaboration, we will continue to provide the high-quality care our patients expect and deserve.

Looking ahead

The Quality Strategy 2025-2027 is a bold step forward in our journey to excellence. It reflects our unwavering commitment to improving patient outcomes and experiences while reinforcing Spire Healthcare’s position as a leader in high-quality, patient-centred care.

I look forward to working with colleagues across Spire Healthcare to bring this strategy to life. Together, we will continue to make a positive difference — for everyone, everywhere, every day.
