Spire Healthcare Ella May Barnes Clinic opens in Norwich following £1.4 million investment

10 December 2024

Spire Ella May Barnes Clinic opened the doors to its first patients this week. The £1.4m investment will provide people across Norfolk with faster access to a range of outpatient services. Located within Norwich Research Park, the new clinic offers a dedicated eye centre, outpatient physiotherapy unit and gym, as well as neurology, cardiology, psychology, respiratory, diabetes, endocrinology, pain medicine, colorectal and private GP services. The specialist facility will provide capacity for over 1,000 outpatient appointments per week, for both NHS and private patients.

Special focus has been given to ensure the comfort and safety of patients within the warm and inviting environment of Spire Ella May Barnes Clinic. Clinical areas comprise 10 spacious outpatient consulting rooms, an ophthalmic laser room, ophthalmic nurses’ assessment room and physiotherapy gym.

The clinic is an extension of the outpatient services available at Spire Norwich Hospital, providing an increase to the existing hospital capacity, to deliver further outpatient appointments across a range of specialties. The opening of the new facility will also allow an improvement of services at Spire Norwich Hospital with future developments being planned.

Spire Ella May Barnes Clinic is also the new base for administration and medical secretarial employees who were previously situated at the main Spire Norwich Hospital site. The new location provides a modern and collaborative workspace for the growing departments within the innovative grounds of Norwich Research Park.
