Spire Healthcare Harrogate Clinic has opened its doors to patients in Hornbeam Park, Harrogate. This £13.5m investment provides people across North Yorkshire faster access to a range of day surgery treatments. These include dermatological, ophthalmic, gynaecological and urology conditions and minor orthopaedic procedures such as hand and foot & ankle surgery. Spire GP services as well as X-ray and ultrasound diagnostics are also available.

As well as having a range of surgical treatments to choose from, people can decide which consultant they would prefer to deliver that treatment, and when.

Spire Healthcare Harrogate Clinic will deliver up to 1,500 operations every year to patients who don’t require an overnight stay. All procedures at the clinic will be performed under local anaesthesia. People needing more complex care or treatment that requires an overnight stay can be referred to Spire Leeds Hospital or Spire Methley Park Hospital.

Spire Healthcare Harrogate Clinic is an important milestone in the broadening of Spire’s services to provide local people fast access to outstanding personalised care in their very own community. Harrogate clinic is part of a network of new clinics being developed by Spire Healthcare to complement its 38 hospitals across England, Scotland and Wales. Spire Healthcare Abergele Clinic in North Wales opened in February this year, while Spire Healthcare Ella May Barnes Clinic in Norwich welcomed its first patients on 9 December.

Special focus has been given to ensure the comfort and safety of patients within the warm and inviting environment of Harrogate Clinic. Clinical areas comprise seven outpatient rooms, GP and diagnostic suites, a dedicated ophthalmology testing suite, a minor procedure area, and a comfortable discharge suite. This is complemented by a drinks station in the main waiting area, and lockers where people can safety store their belongings whilst undergoing their procedures. Upon completion of their treatment, some patients will require a period of recovery and will be assisted to a recliner space in a separate recovery area prior to being discharged. The clinic benefits from ample free car parking and is located close to the Hornbeam Station, which is just one minute from Harrogate Station.

Spire is pleased to have created 30 new jobs in the Harrogate area, across clinical and non-clinical areas.

Justin Ash, CEO of Spire Healthcare said: “I’m pleased to see Spire Healthcare Harrogate Clinic open its doors to patients, and I know the whole team is excited to bring high quality, safe, personalised community care to North Yorkshire. Spire will continue to invest in its business, to grow organically and to deliver outstanding healthcare to people when and where they need it. The opening of Harrogate Clinic is evidence of our continuing commitment to this.”
