My special interests are in management of ocular surface and corneal diseases, corneal transplantation, routine and complicated cataract surgery, refractive surgery (laser and premium lens implantations), oculoplastics and general Ophthalmology. I graduated in medicine from Queen's University of Belfast in 1994 and have over 15 years of experience in Ophthalmology.
I began my Ophthalmology career at Cheltenham General Hospital in 1997 and trained as Senior House Officer at several London hospitals including St Thomas' Hospital before moving to the Northwest to become a registrar. At Liverpool following the completion of my registrar training, I undertook advanced specialty training in cornea and refractive surgery and oculoplastics. I have also completed a cornea, anterior segment and refractive surgery fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.
I have publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and have presented scientific papers and international lectures in Europe and USA. I am a college tutor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a past council member of Medical Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Association and an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and College of Optometrists.
