I am a senior specialist knee surgeon and consultant orthopaedic surgeon, with expertise in the management of conditions affecting the knee joint. My surgical expertise includes knee replacement surgery, ligament reconstructions, sports injuries, cartilage and meniscus repair, arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, realignment (osteotomy), less invasive surgery, injection therapy as well as aspects of robotic surgery. I have developed and followed modern techniques in many areas of knee surgery, to achieve better outcomes.

My special interests include less invasive surgery, modern techniques, sports injuries and faster recovery. I also have an extensive experience of computer guided knee replacements. My approach is patient-centred, evidence based and safety oriented. I believe in the holistic management of the conditions, using all effective modalities of treatment. Openness and integrity remain driving principles in my practice.

My interest in faster recovery led me to serve as the South East England lead in Enhanced Recovery and Enhancing Quality initiative of the Academic Health Science Network as well as a member of the National Steering Committee for Pre-assessment. Currently I am proud to be the South East of England Regional Clinical Coordinator for the UK National Joint Registry. Other responsibilities have included Chief Clinical Information Officer, Audit lead and Clinical Championship for the British Orthopaedic Association.

I have received excellence awards and quality improvement awards for contribution to patient care. I have been involved with teaching and training as well as research over the years, and am a reviewer for the National Institute for Health Research.

I believe in the optimum use of technology and have been offering regular remote video consultations, to minimise risks without compromising high quality care to my patients. Telephone consultations are also offered as a secondary option when patients do not have the video facility.
