I have been a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care since 2001. My main interest is in education having been Training Programme Director and now Regional Advisor in Intensive Care Medicine for the Severn Deanery.
I am an examiner for the Faculty of Intensive care Medicine. I am the clinical lead for ICU research at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and I chaired the Drugs and Therapeutics committee at Bristol Royal Infirmary for 9 years. I have anaesthetised for major hepatobiliary surgery and provided postoperative ICU care for surgical and medical patients since 2001 at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. I have collaboratively developed the enhanced recovery pathway for patients following hepatobiliary surgery focussing on optimal analgesic techniques and optimal cardiovascular monitoring.
