I am a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Spire Bristol Hospital. I specialise in asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, occupational lung disease, and industrial lung disease and medical negligence. I am the current President of the Bristol Medico-Surgical Society.
I trained at Imperial College where I was awarded a PhD in Respiratory Medicine. I trained in London, before moving to Bristol.
I publish textbook chapters, review articles and original articles and I am considered one of the top 100 National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) researchers in the UK.
I am proficient in doing diagnostic bronchoscopy and in doing bronchoscopic volume reduction therapies using valves and coil for patients with COPD.
I have occupied several roles including Deputy Chairman of the Research Committee of the British Thoracic Society, the Secretary of the West Country Chest Society and the Chairman of the Training Committee in the Southwest region. I have led regional services in Cystic Fibrosis and volume reduction therapies in Emphysema patients. I was the Royal College of Physicians' Regional Advisor and currently an International Examiner for the College.
