MBChB
I have been a paediatric orthopaedic consultant at one of the leading teaching hospitals in the country for the last two years. As part of my training I undertook fellowships both in the UK and Australia and have had broad experience in all aspects of children's orthopaedics. I have a real passion for the care of children with musculoskeletal conditions and trauma.
I specialise in paediatric trauma (working in one of only five dedicated paediatric major trauma centres in the UK) including all aspects of long bone trauma and periarticular trauma.
Paediatric orthopaedics is extremely varied. I have performed large numbers of all types of surgery including multi-level surgery for cerebral palsy, derotation surgery for alignment problems, corrective foot surgery, surgery for hip dysplasia, Perthes disease and slipped upper femoral epiphysis. I undertake regular surgery for conditions affecting the upper limb such as neuromuscular conditions like cerebral palsy, and the sequelae of infection or trauma. I also perform high volume trauma surgery.
My subspecialty interests include the surgical management of spasticity, including ultrasound guided awake botulinum toxin injections. As part of the SDR team I have broad experience in the complex assessment and treatment of the musculoskeletal issues after SDR (including muscle lengthening procedures). I am also interested in the care of upper limb conditions affecting children as well as all aspects of paediatric orthopaedic surgery.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Miss Anna Clarke at Spire include:

I am married to a plastic surgeon with two children. We spend our free time cycling, exploring new places and occasionally skiing as a family. We have recently encouraged the children to take up canoeing with us. My other passion is cooking and nothing pleases me more than getting my children to admit they have enjoyed something I have prepared for them. Recent favourites include homemade ice cream, jams and chutneys, but I will turn my hand to anything (with varying levels of success!).
