I am currently employed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with special interest in Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor Surgery at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS trust. Before taking up the Consultant post, I had extensive training in urogynaecology and prolapse surgery in addition to general obstetrics & gynaecology. I have special interest in urogynaecology and prolapse surgery. I have general and urogynaecology clinics at Watford General Hospital and operating sessions both at St Albans City Hospital and Watford General Hospital. I also have a special interest in Medical Education. I am lead for undergraduate, postgraduate training (training Director) and a Royal College Tutor in obstetrics and gynaecology at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
I have been continuously working in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology since 1990 and have 22 years' experience. After passing my MBBS in 1988, I worked in busy general and teaching hospitals in India and abroad for 10 years and acquired postgraduate qualifications (DGO, MD and DNB) in India.
I moved to the United Kingdom in 2000 for higher training and acquired the MRCOG qualification in 2001. During my training in the United Kingdom, I worked in busy district general and teaching hospitals in the South Thames and North Thames regions of London, including St Mary's Hospital.
At Spire Harpenden and Spire Bushey, I offer treatment for various gynaecological problems including urinary incontinence, prolapse, menstrual disorders, menopause problems, pelvic pain, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and abnormal bleeding.
I specialise in urogynaecology and pelvic floor surgery. I treat women with bladder problems and prolapse. I am a skilled and experienced surgeon and perform a wide range of major and minor surgeries. I am dedicated to improving care quality and believe in the importance of patient choice in treatment decisions according to individual needs.
