I am a full time consultant urological surgeon based in central London. I am the clinical lead at the department of urology at St Bartholomew and The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. I have established the keyhole renal cancer surgical service at St Bartholomew and the Royal London Hospital and lead the renal cancer surgical pathway at the Royal London Hospital. I am an honorary contract as a specialist renal cancer surgeon at the Royal Free NHS Trust.
I specialise in a wide spectrum of general urological conditions, diagnostic and endourology, laparoscopy and robotic kidney cancer and reconstructive surgery, urological cancer, overactive bladder, BPH, bladder outflow symptoms, urodynamics and neuro-urology. I have undertaken research in fertility in spinal cord injury patients at the world famous London Spinal Injuries Centre at Stanmore. In collaboration with the Functional Assessment and Restoration Service at Stanmore I have run a successful vibro-ejaculation service for spinal injury patients. My research with Imperial College London has produced findings which are pending application for a patent. I have published many scientific papers and written 10 invited reviews, letters and book chapters on variety of urological conditions.
I completed my higher surgical training, achieving a gold medal in masters in surgery. I was awarded the fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in general surgery. I undertook specialty training in urology leading to Diplomate of National Boards in urology, followed by urological training at the London Deanery culminating in a fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons and the Intercollegiate Specialty Board in the specialty of urology. I am a fellow of European Board of urology. I am a faculty member of Chitra Sethia Laparoscopic and Robotic Training Centre at UCL. I have organised and participated in international laparoscopic surgery workshops with the Glickman Institute in Cleveland. I am a founding member of Chelmsford Imperial Robotic Simulation (CIRS) training team involved in training in crisis management, communication and team working for robotic and laparoscopic surgical teams.
