I am a Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and lead for Audit in Breast surgery currently spearheading introduction of Patient-reported Outcome measures.
In Cambridge, I introduced new techniques of Oncoplastic lumpectomy combined with Breast Reduction (Mammaplasty), skin tightening (Mastopexy) and partial breast reconstruction with fat-only flap (LTAP, LiCAP flaps based on chest wall perforators) after performing big lumpectomy thus maintaining breast shape and avoiding mastectomy in many cases. I am adept in full breast reconstruction with implant (including the latest relatively pain-free muscle-less implant reconstruction), LD (back muscle) flap and newer fat-only chest wall flap (TDAP) in suitable cases.
I completed research in Breast Oncology as a Clinical Lecturer in Breast Surgery (University of Nottingham) and acquired a DM degree (Nottingham) following collaborative laboratory-based research with the Universities of Cardiff and Sheffield. I have authored 100 publications and presentations.
