I graduated in Warsaw in 1974. My basic orthopaedic training was completed there as well as my PhD degree. Since 1986 I was working in the Spinal Unit at Queens’s Medical Centre/Harlowood Orthopaedic Hospital in Nottingham, then as a lecturer in Research Orthopaedics (Spinal Deformity) at the University of Nottingham; I completed British qualifications(FRCS) in 1991.
In 1992 I was working for the Spinal Deformity Unit of Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, then in the department of Orthopaedic Surgery of Middlesex and University College Hospital in London. In 1993 I was appointed as a Consultant in Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Since I am engaged mainly in treatment of spinal disorders with special interest in spinal deformities in adolescents and adults, degenerative disorders.
Since 1997 to the end of 2007 I was involved in the work of Spinal Deformity Clinic as an Honorary Consultant Spinal Surgeon in Addenbrookes Hospital. At present I am associated with the Spinal Unit in Nottingham University Hospital as an Honorary Consultant Spinal Surgeon consultant.
During my years of training and practice in the UK I have presented and published numerous papers on the subject.
