I am a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist at Cambridge University Hospitals. I am a sub-specialist in the management of gynaecological cancers - ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulval and vaginal. I am also a fully accredited robotic gynaecology surgeon.
I specialise in general gynaecology which includes the management of common gynaecological problems - heavy menstrual bleeding, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids and vulval skin lesions. I am also one of a few sub specialists, within the Cambridge area, in the management of gynaecological cancers - ovarian / endometrial / cervical / vulval and vaginal cancers. My particular interest is the early diagnosis of cervical cancer (my PhD research) and the utilisation of cytoreductive surgery for ovarian cancer.
I have a high volume practice in the NHS where I perform multiple major cancer surgeries on a weekly basis. I am also part of a high volume colposcopy service. Alongside this I am part of a busy research programme that is involved in developing more sensitive tests for the early detection of HPV mediated cancers.
