Specialises in
I am a Consultant ENT and Anterior Skull-base Surgeon based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. I completed my primary medical training in 2006 from Oxford University and went on to post-graduate training in London (St George’s, The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals) and the East Anglia region. During my training, I developed an interest in sinus and nasal disease resulting in the completion of two prestigious fellowships. The first in Glasgow, Scotland followed by a second year in Vancouver, Canada. This has allowed me to become one of the few UK ENT surgeons with an American Rhinology Society accredited fellowship.
This training has allowed me to deal with all aspects of nasal and sinus disease in both adults and children. Alongside general ENT disorders, I manage medical and surgical aspects of sinus and nasal disease (including nasal allergy). This includes complex revision sinus surgery, sinonasal tumours, endoscopic pituitary and skull base surgery.
My research interests cover novel surgical and medical therapies in sinus disease, skull base surgery and medical education. I have published multiple peer reviewed publications and written several textbook chapters during my time as an ENT surgeon.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Rishi Sharma at Spire include:
