Mr Vijay Sujendran

I am a fully trained upper GI surgeon in oesophagogastric cancer surgery, obesity surgery (including gastric bypass) and laparoscopic surgery (key hole). Undertook my basic surgical training in Nottingham hospitals and higher surgical training in Oxford prior to taking up consultant Upper GI surgeon post at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.

I also perform a wide range of laparoscopic procedures, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy (Gallbladder surgery), hernia surgery, anti-reflux surgery, Hellers myotomy. I also undertake endoscopic treatment of early oesophageal cancer and perform endoscopic mucosal resection and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and ablation of Barretts oesophagus.

I did a higher degree (MD) in oesophagogastric cancer surgery under the supervision of Professor Middleton and Professor Seymour. I spent a year in obesity surgery as an out of programme trainee prior to returning to Oxford as final year obesity and cancer trainee.
